The members at Shipley Golf Club recognise what a beautiful course we have in a wonderful setting. They also understands the value of protecting and enhancing that environment for the current and future generation of golfers.

A Sustainability and Environment group has been established with the purpose of focusing on ensuring the club fulfils this and is recognised for enhancing nature, reducing resource consumption, developing community standing, and taking action for a healthier climate.

Working under R&A/ RSPB and England Golf guidance we are initially focussing on wildlife around the course including a programme of bird nest box installation and setting up a bird feeding station. Wilded areas around the course are always being evaluated and enhanced whilst not affecting the quality and playability of the course. Water usage, chemical usage, energy usage and waste recycling are also within the remit and are a focus of the group.
